AIM | The IMMOT course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills for medical military personnel to become a Military Medical Observer Trainer (MMOT). The purpose of using MMOT’s is to improve training efficiency and effectiveness of medical units at Level II (platoon level) and higher. IMMOT’s help the military commander to identify training level, the level of readiness of the unit and discrepancies/shortfalls in it. They support the commander before, during and after training sessions, to increase the commander’s competence and knowledge on own and unit skills and ways to continue and improve both their performances. |
TRAINING AUDIENCE | Medical military personnel with rank OR-5 or higher (Navy: OR-4 or higher), NATO personnel and/or international partners, or civilian equivalent. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Course Director. |
LEARNING OBJECTIVES | LO 1: The student understands the content of the course. LO 2: The student understands the added value of this course to enhance a medical training/exercise. LO 3: The student understands the IMMOT principles and can explain what the task and role of the observer trainer are at the different levels in the training or exercise environment. |
PREREQUISITE | The course is a mixture of classroom briefings, syndicate tasks, tabletop exercise/syndicate work and evaluations/AAR based upon video material of simulated training moments which creates a continue standard at every edition of the IMMOT course. This is a four-day course for international participants, (and a five-day course for NLD participants). The training strategy for this course involves progressive classroom lectures including exercises/syndicate work, tabletop exercises and showing the use of different training tools. Lecture classroom + 3-4 syndicate rooms. |
METHODOLOGY | Interactive lectures, syndicates work, practical tasks. |
LANGUAGE | Language Proficiency: Basic level English 2.2.2.2., i.a.w., STANAG 6001. |
ATTENDANCE | Course participants are expected to attend all course activities as the intense program does not allow for absences during the course. Late arrivals or early departures cannot be accepted. |
REGISTRATION | Online registration, not later than 4 weeks prior to the course. Minimum for course conduct is 15, with the maximum of 24 (pending of the Host Nation). |
COURSE FEE | None. Participants have to pay their own travel arrangements/transports, lodging and food costs. |
