Dominique-Jean Larrey Award
LTC Dr. Silke Ruhl had the honour to accept the award in name of the FHP Branch. The Dominique-Jean Larrey Award is the North Atlantic Alliance's highest medical recognition. It is bestowed annually by NATO's senior medical body, the Committee of Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO (COMEDS), which is composed of the Surgeons General of NATO and partner nations. It is awarded for a significant and lasting contribution to NATO’s multinational efforts and/or interoperability, or to improvements in the provision of health care in NATO missions in the areas of medical support or healthcare development.
The FHP Branch received the award because of their supportive and outstanding work during the COVID-19 crisis. The branch formed the hub for all incoming questions on the pandemic to help the alliance and nations by providing them with reliable and actual information and giving them a platform for exchanging their experiences and information via weekly VTC meetings.
The branch team is very honoured to have been nominated and to have received this award and will continue with the work to support the alliance and the soldiers.
