MEDEVAL Course in Norway
26 students were able to pass the course and have become a certified medical evaluator. The students were coming from Albania, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, the United States of America, and from the new NATO member state Finland.
As usual the first days of the course were filled with briefings and syndicate tasks. On the last day a live MEDEVAL was executed by the students. They evaluated a dental module, an ambulance module and a preventive medicine module. The outcomes of the MEDEVAL of these 3 modules were presented to the Command Sergeant-Major to the Surgeon general for the Norwegian Armed Forces Joint medical services Tore Mehus, who took time out of his schedule to attend the above-mentioned briefings.
The medical modules, including the personnel, were delivered by the host nation: Norway. This support, including the real-life support, was of very high quality. Their professional cooperation, in combination with the Norwegian hospitality, will surely bring back the course to the country in the future.
