The evaluation activity consisted of observing the personnel and their actions during simulated patient play interviewing those involved in the evacuation process. Consulting and verifying the documentation provided by the evaluated unit as well as the participation of MILMED COE SMEs the practical ability to strategically evacuate patients was tested in a LIVEX. The LIVEX included 2 flights a day from Zhytomyr to Boryspil international airport, close to Kiev.

In this LIVEX exercise, the whole strategic evacuation chain was tested. From receiving the information regarding the patients to be evacuated, through processing this information by the evacuation coordination module, up to taking over the patients by the medical team from the aircraft. Also, their medical assistance throughout the flight was tested, until they are handed over to the medical team at the destination medical facility.

The Medeval team worked together with evaluation teams from Allied Air Command (AIRCom Ramstein) and an Airforce evaluation team from Sweden. Also demonstrating cooperation between NATO and NATO partners, in excellent conditions, created by the Ukrainian military authorities as a host nation.
